Qing dynasty silver model of turret ship from the Sino Japanese war ca 1895 15 inches x 9 1/2 inches, mounted  on a carved wooden sea and contained in a glass case.

The Imperial Japanese Navy destroyed 8 out of ten warships of the Chinese Beiyang Fleet off the mouth of the Yalu River on 17 September 1894.
The model would have been made prior to this when the fleet was still afloat and the Chinese were proud of it
